Carter C. Melendez , DMD

Carter Melendez was raised in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Dr. Melendez received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Louisville in 2015. In 2019, he graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. He then completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Carle Health, a Level I trauma center in Central Illinois. His surgical interests include dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, facial trauma, oral pathology, and orthognathic surgery.  

Carter and his wife, Layne, return to the Bluegrass with their son, Felix. As a family, they enjoy the outdoors, hiking, cycling, and attending local farmer’s markets and festivals. They are thrilled to get back to their roots and serve the central Kentucky community, which they call home. Dr. Melendez is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Surgery and a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Dental Association, the Kentucky Dental Association, and the Bluegrass Dental Society.
